Remembering September 11, 2001

Today as I was contemplating what happened 15 years ago, I wondered at how large an impact so few people can have. Think about it…several hijackers in a few planes (with outside help) changed the course of millions of people. Here is small list of things that come to my mind now

  • Thousands in NY were killed, injured or had their lives turned upside down due to the towers collapsing
  • The US took advantage of the situation and invaded Afghanistan and then Iraq, destroyed their government and left it in such a mess that ISIS now controlled large sections of Iraq. Millions of people in those countries have been displaced, killed or had their lives severely disrupted
  • We now have TSA to deal with at airports -before that, the agency didn’t exist
  • The US has a never ending war on terror. What if we never would have attacked Iraq, Libya, or Afghanistan? How few people in our government had the influence and authority to cause our country to attack again and again?

I could go on but how beneficial is that? I think I would get depressed!

So how can I look at this in a positive way? If 50 or less demon inspired people affected millions of lives directly or indirectly how much more should 50 Holy Spirit filled people be able to affect more than that? As Christians, we have the Spirit of the living God within us. We have access to the most divine, powerful inspiration that is possible! The Kingdom of God is advanced by mature soldiers of his overcoming army who have their senses exercised to be able to discern the will of God and how to wield the sword of the Spirit, making maximum impact. If we believe that the Marines or the Navy Seals are great and awesome in the natural, the men who know their God are doing even more as they walk in supernatural exploits bringing glory to His name! I am remembering the words to a song saying, “God’s got an army, marching through the land, deliverance is their song, and healing in their hand.” That is so true. Let’s not settle for anything less!

The greater our influence the greater our responsibility before God. How am I influencing my family? My neighbors? My friends? By God’s grace and through his power, together, we can have a larger impact than a few hijackers 15 years ago.

Daniel 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
