This morning I was reading a little from Rick Joyner’s book called “There Were Two Trees in the Garden.” He was contrasting the difference between the kingdom of this world and the kingdom of God. Here is a an excerpt that I thought was really good:
Until God’s kingdom comes, men will incessantly form clubs, societies and boards in order to “feel a part” of something. There will be a striving for rank and recognition. To some degree this appeases their basic need. Those who have truly become united with Christ and His purposes have no need for this. To the believer who has found fulfillment in Him there is equal willingness to become least or greatest. Rank is not important…fruit is. United purpose overshadows position.
Do we feel the need to have a position or title? How is it for me? I am still meditating on this. God’s ways are so different than our natural tendencies. But then again we serve a supernatural God so his ways are not natural. They are supernatural!
In Isaiah 55:8, God says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord,” but God does not intend for it to stay that way. Praise God for his Spirit living within us that will lead us into all truth as we yield to him.
What an amazing privilege we have to be part of the Kingdom of God!
