Are terrorist attacks from Muslim believers significant? It felt to me that Islamic attacks in the United States were on the rise but what does the data show? After a little research and some number crunching I came up with the following information. This is based solely on the research as shown on this page which was just updated within the last week. Is this website reliable? I hope so, but I didn’t take the time to verify it. Fortunately the sources are listed at the bottom of that page.

Here is how everything is labeled. I believe the incidences are labeled fairly well. However, the ones that are labeled as THW don’t show what the motivation was. I know at least some of them were Islamic.

Note: The tables includes terrorist events causing fatalities, incidents involving unconventional weapons, politically-motivated murders, and other incidents of political or methodological significance.

This first chart is a total of those injured or killed in an attack since 1865.

Here is a chart showing the attacks since 9-11. I wanted to see what all happened since then and see if the percentages were different. I was surprised that Islamic attacks were so high. The percentageĀ  still increased even though 9-11 was not included.

So is Islam a religion of peace? How can they be when the reject the Prince of Peace -Jesus?

What was the point of all this? I wanted to see if Islam is contributing to a lot of the attacks. I believe the data answers that question. Somehow we are supposed to believe that those of the Islamic belief are peaceful. Just look at other countries where they are in control or where there are high concentrations of them. Do they offer freedom of religion? Do they allow Christians and other faiths to prosper? Obviously I have my viewpoint on this, but I am just as interested in other viewpoints because that is how we learn.

Do you know of other data that is more accurate? I would love to check it out.

Thanks for reading!

Peace!
