A Dream, of the Kingdom of God

A Dream, of the Kingdom of God

About 2 months ago I felt inspired to write this. I pray it is an encouragement to you.

As I see all these groups of Christians across this region, people who love God …my heart’s desire is this:

I have a dream that one day all of God’s children will be able to sit down and brake bread together. Where taking the bread and cup at communion is not a time of fear and division but is a time of unity and celebration.  A time where we can bless each other and encourage each other, and most of all where Christ is exalted.

I have a dream of a day where each person will know their value and the value of their fellow man. Where no one looks down on the other, where each one is focused on obeying their call to lay down their life, pick up their cross, and follow Jesus.

I have a dream of a day where people are not valued by the dress they wear or the shoes on their feet, but by the condition of their heart. Where the Englishman and the Amish, the Mennonite and the Baptist, the Pilgrim and the Charismatic discern each other’s spirit quicker than they make a judgement about their appearance.

I see a day where Spirit filled Christians are led of the Spirit of God, rather than the fear of man. A time where fear has no hold on them. A time where there has been a baptism of boldness like never before. Where there is an overflowing zeal and passion, where God’s love can’t be held back.

I see a day where the disciple of Christ is more energized to serve than by his interest in sports, where the entertainment of music and movies fades because of the richness of Godly fellowship, because the Spirit is moving so powerfully.

The time is now for us to seek the Lord. The time is now for us to serve him. The time is now to stop going our own way or focusing only on our needs. There is a brother who needs our encouragement, there is a sister that needs our prayer. We are the hands & feet of Jesus; we are the ones who are called to minister life. If not you, then who? If not now, then when?

Christians have been given ultimate freedom. We can have freedom from our sins, freedom from our past. We have a future that is glorious, a destiny that is amazing. As we use our freedom to only love God and serve other, we will show the world what true living is like. By the grace of God we are here today and by the grace of God we can move into the future he has for us. May God’s kingdom come, his will be done, here in earth, as it is in heaven. Amen!
